Our analysis highlights a significant, unsustainable stress on natural forests and a projected timber supply shortfall, while also pointing to a number of factors that are expected to drive further development of plantation forest investments over the coming decade. We believe the next several years will offer opportune timing for timberland investors to invest in plantation forests in favorable operating regions as a means to benefit from the timber supply gap, capture carbon to seek to mitigate climate change, and generate favorable investment returns in an increasingly uncertain environment.
